Thermal imaging
Thermal imaging of buildings, installations and equipment. It shows where a building loses heat, where there is damp and where systems are not working properly, without opening walls or floors.
A thermal camera shows the temperature distribution across a wall, roof, floor or piece of equipment. Thermal bridges, poorly fitted windows, damp, leaks and overheating components are visible straight away.

Why you might need it
- Your heating bills are too high and you do not know where the heat is going.
- You suspect damp, mould or a leak in a floor or wall.
- You are taking over finished works (insulation, windows, underfloor heating) and want to check the quality.
- You are buying a property and want to know its real condition.
- You are looking for a fault: a cold radiator, an overheating connection, a blocked underfloor heating loop.
Who it is for
- House and apartment owners
- Building managers and co-owners
- Investors and contractors at handover
- Companies: plants, warehouses, electrical cabinets
What you get
- Thermal survey of the building or installation
- Thermal images with interpretation
- A report on the defects found
- Recommendations for repairs and their order
How we work
- You send an enquiry and describe the problem
- We agree a date suited to the weather
- On-site survey
- Report with thermal images and recommendations
Frequently asked questions
When is the best time for a survey?
Building envelopes are best surveyed during the heating season, when the difference between indoor and outdoor temperature is large enough, on an overcast day or early in the morning. Installations and equipment can be surveyed all year round while they are running.
Can you find a leaking pipe under the floor?
In most cases, yes: warm water escaping from the pipe heats the surrounding floor, so the leak shows up on the image. This avoids breaking up the floor blindly.
Is thermal imaging part of the energy certificate?
It is not required, but it is a useful addition: it confirms where the thermal bridges are and helps you decide on renovation measures.
